SteepleThe Anglican Parish of Mascouche is a bilingual community in the Anglican tradition. Our church serves the quickly expanding municipalities of Mascouche and Terrebonne, just north of Montreal, in the beautiful province of Quebec.

We are also known as Grace, Saints Michael and Margaret Church, and we are part of the Laurentians deanery of the Anglican Diocese of Montreal.

Our priest is the Rev. Maïda Vandendorpe.

We meet for worship on Sunday at 10am. Please join us!

Nous sommes une communauté chrétienne bilingue dans la tradition anglicane, situés à Mascouche, au nord de Montréal. Nos services sont le dimanche à 10h. Venez nous visiter!

We even have snow! It makes for a pretty sight.It’s Christmas Eve! In a few short hours, we will gather to celebrate the mystery of God made flesh.

Please plan to join us, tonight, December 24, 2011 at 9:30pm for our candlelit service.

In anticipation of this wonderful night, please enjoy this delightful video – a slightly different pageant from the one we were invited to enjoy last week. Children tell the story of the incarnation:

Christmas can make us more aware of the emptiness and the hurt in our lives: an empty chair at the table, a broken relationship, a painful illness, a lost job or lost opportunity.

Our Blue Christmas service offers space to acknowledge this pain and remember those we particularly miss this time of year.

Come join us tonight, December 23, 2011, at 7pm. Before we welcome the light of the world, let us acknowledge the darker corners of our lives.

A closing prayer from Ted Loder, Guerillas of Grace:

O God of all seasons and senses, grant us the sense of your timing to submit gracefully and rejoice quietly in the turn of the seasons.In this season of short days and long nights,
of grey and white and cold,
teach us the lessons of endings;
children growing, friends leaving, loved ones dying,
grieving over,
grudges over,
blaming over,
excuses over.

O God, grant us a sense of your timing.
In this season of short days and long nights,
of grey and white and cold,
teach us the lessons of beginnings;
that such waitings and endings may be the starting place,
a planting of seeds which bring to birth what is ready to be born—
something right and just and different,
a new song, a deeper relationship, a fuller love—
in the fullness of your time.

O God, grant us the sense of your timing.

Blue Christmas: when Christmas hurts: sometimes Christmas makes us even more aware of the holes in our lives, and the pain of what our life is not seems hard to bear. This service is a quiet, contemplative service with time to grieve what is not. All are welcome.
